ComEd’s Peak Time Savings (PTS) program has earned customers more than $1.2 million in credits in exchange for their efforts to reduce electric usage, according to the company.
The program was introduced during the summer of 2015. It provides customers a $1 bill credit for every kilowatt hour of energy reducing during peak time savings hours, which occur between 11 AM and 7 PM on three to five days per summer.
In its first summer, more than 50,000 customers were enrolled and $386,000 in total bill credits awarded. Last summer, an additional 100,000 customers signed up and more than $868,000 in bill credits awarded, the company says.
Competitive retail provider TXU Energy on September 29 announced an offer of a limited-time instant rebate for residential consumers who purchase SunPower rooftop solar systems through the company.
