Climeon's Marine Energy Tech Improves Efficiency 14%

climeon ELClimeon’s Ocean marine waste heat recovery system can improve efficiency by 14 percent and help customers reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 5 percent. Frost and Sullivan has awarded Climeon the Technology Innovation Award for its Ocean heat-power system.

Frost and Sullivan also released a report on Marine Waste Heat Recovery Solutions in which it rated the Climeon Ocean as the top industry solution, with a score of 9.2 (excellent) on a scale from 1–10.

Other key benefits of the system include:

  • Typically around 5 percent fuel savings for marine installations.
  • Well suited for all ships with engines greater than 5 MW.
  • Designed for new-build as well as retrofit.

Climeon Ocean converts hot water between 70–120 degrees Celsius into 100 percent clean electricity. The system is scalable from 150 kW up to 1 MW.
