Clarksville, AR, has tapped BlueInGreen’s HyDOZ ozone dissolution system to decontaminate its water supply. The city will use the technology, which it says uses less water and power and fewer chemicals than traditional systems. In Clarksville, it will deliver dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide and ozone into 24 million gallons of water per day.
The stories don’t comment directly on the energy savings in the Clarksville project except to say that they will be both long- and short-term. A company white paper provides some context, however. The document says that the 10:1 turndown ratio is 10 percent to 40 percent more efficient than the leading venturi injectors.
In July, the city of Greeley (CO) Water Pollution Control Facility said it reduced its energy consumption by 23 percent since 2011. The savings has reduced annual energy costs by $120,000.
