Pilkington Glass plant in Ontario, Canada, received $146,049 for its energy conservation efforts, part of the Save on Energy Retrofit Program.
Pilkington, manufacturer of glass for buildings and vehicles, made upgrades to the plant’s compressed air system and dryers. The upgrades resulted in a substantial energy savings. The money was presented on behalf of Collus Powerstream, a community-owned utility services provider in Canada.
In the United States, companies, schools and organizations have recently been rewarded for their energy efficient efforts. Just this month, Indiana’s Valparaiso University’s new 55,000 square-foot science building was honored by NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Company) for its energy efficient initiatives, and awarded a $150,000 energy rebate.
And in June, an online, user-friendly rebate tool was implemented recently that allows HVAC contractors to search for local and national rebates or incentives available on energy efficient light commercial LG air conditioning systems.
