CA, MA Tie for ACEEE Top Spot

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) says that California and Massachusetts are the most energy efficient states.

The ACEEE, in its tenth annual scorecard, said that Massachusetts was in the top spot for the sixth year in a row, though this is the first time that it shared the position with another state.

The balance of the top ten are Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York (which tied for fifth place), Oregon, Washington, Maryland and Minnesota. Missouri, Maine and Michigan were the most improved states. Louisiana, Kansas, South Dakota, Wyoming and North Dakota brought up the rear.

The Consumer Energy Alliance’s (CEA’s) report, “Incentivizing Solar Energy: An In-Depth Analysis of U.S. Solar Incentives” suggests that progress on solar energy is being made at the state level.
