utiliVisor has been approved by Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) as an energy services provider for building tune-up projects throughout the utiliy’s central Maryland service territory.
Working under the BGE Smart Energy Savers Program, utiliVisor will serve as an energy advisor to identify cost savings and help owners improve the operation of their existing systems via building tune-ups, or retro-commissioning.
BGE’s Building Tune-up Program is offered in support of EmPOWER Maryland and provides BGE customers financial incentives of up to $30,000 for identifying and implementing relatively low-cost operational and maintenance improvements to enhance energy efficiency.
utiliVisor’s building tune-up process combines real time energy management and an operations center of engineers who monitor, troubleshoot and advise on electrical, mechanical and controls systems in existing buildings to optimize energy performance.
utiliVisor’s continuous energy oversight program will create opportunities for Maryland facilities with large central plants to reduce energy operating costs by 12-20 percent, according to the company. In addition, a portion of the initial capital investment in energy conservation measures will be offset by the incentives from the BGE Smart Energy Savers Program.
