Brokerage Service Delivers $400K in Retail Energy Savings to Victoria County, Texas

QuotEnergy Advisors, an energy procurement firm and approved provider in the TIPS/TAPS purchasing program, announced on September 13 that it has helped Victoria County, in southeast Texas, to successfully procure 40 million kilowatt-hours ( kWh) of electricity to power its facilities.

The resulting 4-year energy contract will begin in 2019, securing nearly $400,000 in savings for the County over its current rate, while providing valuable budget certainty well into 2023.

TIPS/TAPS is a purchasing cooperative sponsored by Region 8 Education Service Center, Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Dawson Education Cooperative in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. TIPS/TAPS is available for use by all public and private schools, colleges, universities, cities, counties and other government entities in multiple states

QuotEnergy proactively approached Victoria County to evaluate savings opportunities in the long-term energy market, working diligently with county Commissioner Kevin Janak, “as a seamless extension of his team,” the procurement firm said.

“Energy is a top expense for us at the county, so being able to take advantage of today’s historically low forward-energy markets to fix a very low rate into 2023– one that guarantees savings over our current rate – is a very positive development,” commented Janak. “Every dollar we can save on energy is a dollar saved for our taxpayers, and that is a responsibility I take very seriously.”
