A consolidation between ASHRAE and the Indoor Air Quality Association has been finalized by both organizations.
In July, ASHRAE announced it had agreed in principle to join forces with the IAQA, combining resources to improve indoor air quality in the built environment. Since August, the two groups have been undergoing a period of due diligence. That diligence was completed in January.
Under the consolidation, IAQA — which aims to prevent and solve indoor environmental problems — will become a part of the ASHRAE organization while maintaining its own brand and board of directors. IAQA will operate independently within ASHRAE’s organizational structure.
