Parties involved in building and financing the project include: housing developer Actus Lend Lease, SolarCity, Tucson Electric Power, National Bank of Arizona and U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation.

National Bank of Arizona will own the 45,000 panel ground-mounted system, which should provide 3.3 megawatts in capacity.

About 36,000 panels will be mounted in rooftop arrays, which are being financed by SolarCity and U.S. Bancorp.

The project will boost Arizona's use of renewable energy by 15 percent and produce about 10 million kilowatt hours annually.

The system is projected to be able to provide about 75 percent of the resident's energy use every year, and may eventually cover 100 percent.

Actus Lend Lease is also developing one of the world’s largest solar powered communities at the Army Hawaii Family Housing complex. Upon completion, the Army Hawaii Family Housing project will be the largest solar-powered community in the U.S.
