AquaVolt Targets $600M in Floating Solar by 2027

AquaVolt Solutions (AVS), one of the fastest-growing developers in floating solar technology, has announced a target of $600 million in secured solar contracts by 2027—a sixfold increase from its current $100 million project portfolio.

“We are entering the golden era of renewable energy,” said Rashid bin Saeed, Founder and CEO of AquaVolt Solutions, in an August 2025 press release. “Our $600 million target is ambitious—but the world’s momentum toward clean, decentralized, and land-efficient energy systems is undeniable. Floating solar is no longer a niche—it’s becoming central to future energy strategies.”

Current Momentum and Market Context

As of August 2025, AVS has secured more than $100 million in floating solar contracts across Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. These projects span large-scale reservoirs, coastal sites, and hybrid infrastructure aligned with national energy strategies. Collectively, AVS has delivered or committed to over 2,200 MW of floating solar capacity.

The company’s growth strategy coincides with a global surge in clean energy investment, which the International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts will surpass $2 trillion annually by 2030. Floating solar is especially attractive in emerging markets where land constraints, water infrastructure, and rising power demand intersect.

Strategic Path to $600 Million

To achieve its 2027 milestone, AVS is prioritizing three areas:

  • Scaling Southeast Asia and MENA Contracts: Multi-phase deployments in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the UAE are expected to account for nearly half the target.
  • Forging ESG-Focused Partnerships: Customized floating solar systems for manufacturers, ports, and mining companies will help accelerate corporate decarbonization.
  • Leveraging Carbon Credit Monetization: By integrating carbon credit trading into projects, AVS aims to boost return on investment and attract a broader pool of financiers.

Floating Solar Gains Global Recognition

Floating solar has gained endorsements from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and IRENA, which emphasize its role in balancing land scarcity with clean energy needs. Benefits include:

  • Avoiding land-use conflicts with agriculture and housing
  • Improved efficiency through natural water cooling
  • Proximity to grid connections at dams and reservoirs
  • Synergies with existing water systems such as irrigation and hydroelectric dams

Long-Term Roadmap

Looking beyond 2027, AVS plans to:

  • Establish a floating solar innovation hub in Southeast Asia
  • Expand into energy storage and smart water-energy systems
  • Create a carbon credit exchange linked to renewable infrastructure
  • Enable 1 million tons of CO₂e reduction annually by 2028

“We’re not chasing growth for its own sake,” Rashid added. “We’re building clean power infrastructure that delivers measurable environmental and economic benefits for the communities we serve.”
