Applied CleanTech says it has finalized its pilot program with Veolia France, Mexico and Alberta in implementing its sewage recycling system (SRS) technology globally.
On average, each person produces 60 gallons of waste per day, ACT says. The sewage mining company’s technology and process turns wastewater into raw materials for re-use and recycling. This process generates revenue from recycling reusable materials from sewage.
Through its local distributor Vert Energy, ACT has won a bid to install the SRS and generate Recyllose for the city of Leon, Mexico. In addition its Canadian partner is also installing the first SRS in Alberta, Canada.
In addition to its commercial progress, ACT has secured two patent approvals around its wastewater recycling technologies.
ACT’ s sewage recycling system reduced the Dutch Waterschap Aa en Maas’ daily operational costs by about $2,700 in addition to reducing sludge by up to 30 percent, according to a report published late last year that examined the commercial potential of sewage mining.
