Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced that Apple will be expanding in Arizona with a $2 billion investment in a factory it already owns in Mesa. Apple will turn its 1.3 million-sq-foot building into a data center, which it refers to as “a command center” for its global networks.
Additionally, Apple is making a significant investment to power the facility with 100 percent renewable energy - building and financing solar projects that will produce 70 MW.
Apple will develop the new solar plants with local utility Salt River Project, according to Gigaom.
