UK anti-aviation group Plane Stupid has uncovered what it says is a corporate spy, an "activist" who in reality works as "an analyst" for C2-i International, the UK's premier "special risk management" and investigation company, The Guardian reports. He was also accused of acting as an "agent provocateur," and planting stories to discredit activists. He's circled in red in the picture above from planestupid.com.
It's not clear who the mole was working for. C2i has said that he was operating on his own and his infiltration of Plane Stupid was not sanctioned, even though Heathrow airport owner, BAA, a target for Plane Stupid protests, confirmed C2i had offered its services. British Airways refused to confirm or deny whether it paid someone to observe the group.
Activists, the UK government, and other groups have been battling over the expansion of London’s Heathrow airport.
