“These 23 LEED Fellows are distinguished leaders whose work is shaping a more sustainable built environment for communities across the globe,” said Peter Templeton, President and CEO of GBCI and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), in an October 15, 2025 press release. “They have demonstrated exceptional commitment to LEED and to advancing the principles of green building.”
This year’s Fellows represent sectors ranging from architecture and construction to real estate development and sustainability consulting. Honorees span Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America, underscoring the international reach of LEED as the world’s most widely used green building rating system.
Each Fellow has demonstrated expert-level technical proficiency and at least a decade of leadership in the field. Collectively, the 2025 class strengthens a global network of more than 203,000 LEED credential holders who are driving measurable progress in sustainable design, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.
The Fellows will be formally recognized at the USGBC Leadership Awards Celebration on November 5, 2025, during the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo in Los Angeles — the world’s largest annual gathering of green building professionals.
Since its inception, the LEED Fellow program has set a benchmark for professional excellence in sustainability. Nominees undergo an extensive peer review process, evaluated on technical proficiency, education and mentoring, advocacy, and service to the green building community.
The continued expansion of LEED’s global community reflects growing demand for verified sustainability expertise amid tightening building performance standards and climate accountability goals. As governments and corporations prioritize net-zero pathways, LEED professionals play a critical role in aligning project design with environmental and social impact metrics.
With the built environment responsible for nearly 40% of global carbon emissions, GBCI’s recognition of these 23 individuals reinforces the strategic role of credentialed experts in accelerating the decarbonization of buildings and infrastructure.
