Manufacturing redevelopment and urban agriculture are among the projects that will receive supplemental EPA funding — the agency has made available $11 million — to help clean up contaminated brownfields properties.
The funds have been awarded to 31 grantees already working to clean up and redevelop brownfields. The agency expects the projects to create more than 700 jobs and leverage more than $57 million in cleanup and redevelopment.
The supplemental grants range in funding from about $200,000 to $500,000 with an average grant award of $350,000.
