About

Patty Durand founded Georgians for Affordable Energy, a nonprofit organization that seeks utility reform in order to end the trio of Georgia Power's high bills, high profits, and high disconnections. She also serves as President of Cool Planet Solutions. A longtime energy advocate with an extensive background in the industry, Patty was the 2022 Democratic candidate for the Georgia Public Service Commission. She brings data-driven analysis and a consumer-first perspective to the complex intersection of monopoly utility economics, state regulation, and clean energy transition.
