Aligned with NEC industry standards, the shade delivers Class 2 direct DC power, enhancing energy efficiency and supporting carbon reduction goals in modern buildings. The power generated can be stored in DC battery systems, function independently, or integrate with low-voltage DC Power over Ethernet (PoE) networks for both power and data distribution. Each shade can produce up to 100 watts of Class 2 zero-emission power, suitable for motorized operation, lighting, and other low-power commercial devices.
The semi-transparent design offers both visual and functional benefits. Externally, the ORENgE film aligns with window glazing, creating a clean, symmetrical appearance. Internally, it reduces glare and solar heat gain by absorbing visible and near-infrared light, converting excess energy into usable zero-emission power. This contributes to improved energy efficiency, enhanced thermal comfort, and better building performance.
The system integrates seamlessly with Mecho’s SolarTrac automation, which adjusts shading based on real-time daylight conditions to reduce energy consumption and improve indoor comfort. This makes the solution adaptable for commercial offices, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities.
