Madhya Pradesh Launches Logistics Policy-2025 to Boost Investment and Trade

Posted

Madhya Pradesh is setting the stage for economic transformation with the launch of the Madhya Pradesh Logistics Policy-2025, unveiled by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav ahead of the Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Bhopal on February 24-25. The policy aims to reduce logistics costs, enhance supply chain efficiency, and attract investments by fostering a world-class logistics infrastructure.

Transforming Madhya Pradesh into a Logistics Hub

The new policy is designed to align Madhya Pradesh’s logistics sector with global standards by 2030, making the state a strategic hub for domestic and international businesses. By reducing port turnaround time, streamlining logistics processes, and introducing innovative technologies like RFID doors and the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), the state government seeks to enhance efficiency and security across the logistics value chain.

Additionally, the policy includes the implementation of a PCS-One system for e-delivery orders, which will accelerate cargo movement and improve operational transparency. The establishment of dedicated FSSAI labs will ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, further bolstering the reliability of logistics operations.

Infrastructure and Green Industrialization

Madhya Pradesh is establishing over 20 cargo terminals equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to improve freight movement and support international trade. The policy also promotes sustainable industrialization, offering incentives for zero-liquid discharge waste management systems and centralized waste processing. Businesses adopting green transportation practices will benefit from the newly introduced Green Card Scheme, which grants fast-track approvals and regulatory support.

Export Growth and Investment Incentives

A key feature of the policy is its emphasis on enhancing Madhya Pradesh’s export capacity. The government will develop export parks, offering 100% reimbursement on stamp duty and registration fees, along with financial assistance of up to ₹40 crore ($4.8 million) or 50% per acre for infrastructure development. Additionally, businesses can avail up to 25% or ₹25 crore ($3 million) financial aid for establishing common pre-processing facilities.

The policy aims to:

  • Boost export volume and promote 'Made in Madhya Pradesh' products.
  • Increase employment opportunities in logistics, warehousing, and transportation.
  • Reduce transportation costs, directly benefiting farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs.

Holistic Economic Growth Strategy

The Madhya Pradesh Logistics Policy-2025 is part of a broader economic development plan that includes the recently approved Madhya Pradesh Industry Promotion Policy and Madhya Pradesh Export Promotion Policy 2025. These policies aim to create 2 million employment opportunities over the next five years and position the state as a leading investment hub.

To simplify business operations, the state has introduced a single-window clearance system, eliminating bureaucratic delays and ensuring swift approvals for industrial projects. With targeted incentives for agriculture, textiles, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, EV manufacturing, and renewable energy, Madhya Pradesh is strengthening its position as a globally competitive investment destination.
