General Electric has doubled sales from environmentally friendly products to $12 billion over the past two years, Financial Times reports. At an LA event today with Arnold Schwarzenegger at 2pm ET (you can watch it live here), Jeffrey Immelt, GE’s chief executive, will say the company has $50 billion of projects in the pipeline and is on track to meet its target of $20 billion in green sales by 2010.
Sales of environmentally friendly products, such as wind turbines, water-purification systems and energy-efficient appliances rose from $6 billion in 2004 to $10 billion in in 2005 and $12 billion last year.
GE will also reveal that last year it invested $900 million of its $3.7 billion annual research and development budget on green projects.
