ENXSUITE has released version 6.0 of its energy management platform that automates energy and sustainability performance management to help businesses manage energy during organizational change, reconcile utility bills and access smart-grid and building energy management tools.
The ENXSUITE 6.0 software capabilities have been expanded to integrate with energy business systems and automate the process of energy performance management. It also will better incorporate all of an organization's stakeholders, including employees, suppliers and partners, who are frequently involved in energy performance management and sustainability programs and initiatives, says ENXSUITE.
The ENXSUITE upgrades include open web services API for smart-grid and building energy management integration, multi-dimensional reporting capabilities for more accurate data analysis and improved energy decision-making. It also provides users with advanced organizational change management and baseline recalculation, and a new contextual user experience and user interface.
The software also features a new energy portfolio manager for better tracking and control of water, waste, carbon, power and fuel consumption, and a utility invoice and reconciliation manager.
ENXSUITE also announced that it has fully deployed its energy and sustainability performance management software platform in more than 12,000 sites worldwide, with over 110,000,000 MWh (megawatt hours) under management. Customers include Sears, Northrop Grumman, Morgan Stanley and Apollo Group.
In an interesting use of the platform, ENXSUITE recently helped Becker Underwood conduct its first product life cycle assessment (LCA) of a natural pest control product. The software platform helped Becker determine the energy, materials and emissions involved in the life cycle of the "Nemaslug," a nematode-based product.
In other energy management news, LED lighting manufacturer Seesmart recently partnered with control systems manufacturer Lagotek to deliver an integrated commercial energy management solution. The new partnership will enable Seesmart customers to achieve greater energy savings by using Lagotek's intelligent control system to regulate and automate a building's energy use.
The Lagotek Building Intelligence System (BIS) combines lighting, shading, and climate controls to reduce the overall energy used by a building. The system’s centralized architecture makes it easy to use, upgrade and expand, says Lagotek. It offers local and whole building control and can be managed remotely from any web browser.
Seesmart says its LED lighting can reduce lighting costs by 50 percent to 90 percent, depending on a facility’s current lighting, and by adding Lagotek energy management, the overall savings can reach 40 percent to 50 percent for both lighting and HVAC costs.
