GSE: The geosynthetic containment systems manufacturer says Mark Arnold, president and CEO, is leaving the company. GSE’s board of directors has appointed Charles A. Sorrentino, a current member of the board, as interim president and CEO, effective immediately.
United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative: The partnership between the UN and the financial sector has elected two new co-chairs. David Pitt-Watson, senior strategic advisor of Inflection Point Capital Management, and Madeleine Ronquest, head of environmental and social risk management at FirstRand Group, will co-chair the UNEP FI global steering committee for the next two years.
Sustainable Development Technology Canada: The federal agency dedicated to the growth of clean technology companies in Canada has named Jim Balsillie as chair, CTV News reports. Balsillie is former CEO of Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry.
Scope 5: The sustainability tracking software company has appointed Derek Eisel as director of sales. Eisel previously worked at Expeditors International where he most recently served as global environmental program manager.
Honest Buildings: The energy management and green building company says Norbert Young has joined the company as an active advisor. Young is former president of McGraw Hill Construction.
Forum for the Future: The sustainability nonprofit has promoted Sally Uren to chief executive. Uren previously was deputy chief executive.
DriveCam: The driver risk management company says its board of directors has elected Thomas Darcy to the board and has appointed him as audit committee chair. Darcy is a co-founder, executive vice president, chief financial officer and director of Tocagen, a biopharmaceutical company.
MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub: The research center, which aims to accelerate emerging breakthroughs in concrete science, has named Jeremy Gregory as executive director. Gregory is an engineer who studies the economic and environmental implications of materials, their recycling and end-of-life recovery.
