Cargill, Cisco, DHL, and Timberland are among a host of companies that have earned the Supply & Demand Chain Executive's Green Supply Chain Award. The magazine's ranking recognizes companies that are making sustainability a core part of their supply-chain strategies in areas including sourcing/procurement, fulfillment/logistics, operations, and product lifecycle management.
Supply & Demand Chain Executive says market forces that include public pressure, government regulations and corporate social responsibility initiatives are driving organizations to view "green" and "sustainability" as necessary components of their supply chain strategies.
The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services that are helping their customers achieve their sustainability goals.
Submission reviews are based on the clarity and content of a company's goals and strategy, the extent of the steps being taken, and the impact of the results to date and projected results.
The complete listing of the 2010 Green Supply Chain Awards recipients will be featured in the November/December 2010 issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine.
