APS, Sundance Square, Pacific Power Recognized as Green Power PR Leaders

The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) has recognized Arizona Public Service (APS), Sundance Square, Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power, and Thor Hinckley at Portland General Electric as Green Power Market Development award winners. The Market Development Awards are part of the Green Power Leadership Awards co-sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The CRS Market Development Award recognizes leadership through four awards. The Best Green Power Education Outreach Program award recognizes effective outreach educational programs; Best Promotional Campaign by a Green Power Purchaser for promoting the use of green power in an innovative or compelling way; Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Supplier for the originality and success in a campaign to gain new customers; and the Green Power Pioneer Award for cutting-edge outreach efforts, continuous achievement by an individual for helping to create the green power industry.

This year's Green Power Market Development Award Winners are:

--Best Green Power Education Outreach Program: Arizona Public Service, for The Renewables

--Best Promotional Campaign by a Green Power Purchaser: Sundance Square

--Best Marketing Campaign by a Green Power Supplier: Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power

--Green Power Pioneer Award: Thor Hinckley, Portland General Electric

CRS co-sponsors the Green Power Leadership Awards in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The DOE also awarded its Green Power Supplier Awards for advancing the development and use of green energy. This year’s Non-Utility Green Power Supplier of the Year award winners are 3Degrees and Bonneville Environmental Foundation, which both won last year, together with SolarCity and SunRun.

La Plata Electric Association and Portland General Electric earned this year’s Utility Green Power Program of the Year award.

EPA also recognized 18 Green Power Partners including Kohl’s Department Stores, Motorola, TD Bank, and Whole Foods Market for their achievements in using green power and cutting GHG emissions.
