landfillThis year kicked off with a couple major waste and recycling company acquisitions and this trends towards consolidation seems to be continuing with new deals announced today.

Florida Express Environmental, an integrated waste and recycling services firm that serves seven counties in Florida, has acquired select assets from Licciardello’s Sanitation Services for an undisclosed amount, Waste Dive reports.

The purchase includes 10,000 new residential, commercial and industrial customers and six new vehicles, expanding the Ocala-based business’ fleet to 32 vehicles.

Another Florida-based company, National Waste Management Holdings, has acquired Kingston, New York-based Northeast Data Destruction and Recycling, also for an undisclosed amount.

As Waste360 reports, the purchase expands Hernando, Florida-based National Waste Management’s operations into upstate New York, where the company is responding to customer demand for cardboard recycling and document destruction, hard drive destruction and other data destruction.

National Waste Management’s acquisition strategy calls for at least one acquisition per quarter.
