Honeywell and Oklahoma Gas & Electric have agreed to work together on a $19.1 million facility modernization project for the assembly plant at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK. The effort is in line with the Air Force’s goal of reducing energy consumption by 25 percent by 2025.
The project is being led by OG&E, according to the press release, and is being funded through a Utility Energy Service Contract. The goal is to increase energy and water system efficiency and install renewable energy systems. Honeywell is providing the upgrades and will guarantee the savings, according to the release. The carbon footprint of the facility will be reduced by 178,627 metric tons over the life of the contract.
Last year, it was reported that Tinker Air Force Base exceeded the Air Forces’ 3 percent energy reduction goals for October 2014 to September 2015.
