The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA) in Maine has received $1.558,098 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to upgrade two hangars at the Brunswick Executive Airport, according to Mainebiz.com.
The funding, the story says, was awarded through the FAA’s Military Airport Program. It will cover installation of radiant heating in hangers 4 and 5 at the airport. This is expected to reduce costs significantly. In a joint statement, U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King lauded the project. They said that the MRRA has done a good job in upgrading the facility and providing jobs. The airport was formerly the Brunswick Naval Air Station.
