MP2 Energy will provide renewable energy for a new Toyota plant in Plano, TX.
The press release says that the contract is based on forecasted hourly energy consumption for the 2.1 million square-foot campus, which consists of office space and support, a data center and light industrial and light automotive service facilities. The agreement – which is for five-years – includes 7.75 MW of solar power generation through MP2’s Net Energy Billing Program.
The remainder of the required electricity will be procured from renewable resources, such as offsite solar and local wind farms, according to the release. Demand response and other onsite generation capabilities may be added later.
Last autumn, Toyota’s plant in Georgetown, KY switched to methane from the Central Kentucky Landfill as a source of power.
