by | May 31, 2016

renovareRenovare Fuels, a company in the United Kingdom, has “co-invented” a process by which landfill gas is converted into liquid diesel and gasoline, according to Renewable Energy Focus.

The company claims that the fuel is high quality and clean. It believes that technique enable the natural decomposition of organic matter will lead to the creation of the liquid fuels, which can be resold for use in fleets. The idea is that the process can have a double benefit: Help with the efficiency of landfills and create usable energy.

Renovare Fuels says it will work with landfill operators. The fuel could be sold or used to power the landfill’s own fleets.

Renewable Energy from Waste reports that Gershman, Brickner & Bratton and Stern Brothers & Co. will work together on waste-to-energy and alternative energy projects.
