Williamson County, TX, Approves PACE Loans

by | Apr 8, 2016

texasIn Williamson County, Texas, commissioners have approved participation in a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loan program, according to The Statesman. The PACE structure is expected to facilitate longer-term energy efficiency loans, the story said. The county will act as a liaison between the property owner and the issuing entity. It would, however, have no direct role in any ensuing deal.

Last month, a representative from Simon Property Group told commissioners that the company could use the program borrow as much as $2 million for energy improvements at Lakeline Mall and predicted that the result could be a savings of 1 million gallons of water annually.

The PACE loan program is aiming at including more non-residential loans, according to experts.
