Dover, N.H., Saves More Than Projected Under EPC

Johnson-Controls-logo22Johnson Controls has told the City of Dover’s (N.H.) Department of Planning and Community Development that from November 28, 2014 to Oct. 31, 2015 it saved $354,849 under the energy performance contract (EPC) between the two entities, according to Fosters.

Cost savings for the year – the fourth of the contract – were projected to be $346,603. In addition, there is a cost avoidance guarantee of $8,246. The contract had several goals. According to the story, the mandates are to cut costs, provide capital upgrades, increase energy efficiency, increase the reliability of Dover’s mechanical and electrical systems and maintain or increase residents’ comfort and well-being.

The Mount Vernon (N.Y.) School District and the City of Denver recently entered into EPCs with Honeywell Building Systems and Ameresco, respectively.
