Final Rules for Commercial Icemakers, Fluorescent Lamps

ice energy manageThe US Department of Energy issued final rules for automatic commercial icemakers and general service fluorescent lamps.

These rules mark the ninth and tenth standards finalized this year. The new rules will increase the energy efficiency of the ice machines in hotels and restaurants, as well as the long linear bulbs that light many offices, while saving money on energy bills and reducing pollution, says DOE.

Electric motors

Commercial refrigeration and walk-in coolers

External power supplies

Metal halide lamps
