The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) updated its database to include energy efficiency information about local governments around the United States, in addition to its existing state energy efficiency content.
The State and Local Policy Database includes information on energy efficiency policies currently implemented and tracks policy activity across multiple sectors, including state and local governments, utilities, transportation, buildings, combined heat and power, and appliance standards. Users can click on a state or city on the database map to learn more about the specific policies that encourage energy efficiency. Users can also look at a particular policy type and compare the approaches of all states or cities to that topic.
The database will be updated by members of ACEEE’s utilities, state, and local policy team at least once a year with the data collected for new editions of ACEEE’s state and city scorecards.
Similarly, the Center for the New Energy Economy (CNEE) is an organization that tracks energy legislation. According to CNEE, the most common energy legislation in 2014 relates to changes in PUC procedures, authority and rate recovery.
