NEC Energy ManageNEC Asia Pacific launched its energy management and control (EMC) system, capable of reducing total energy consumption of an enterprise by more than 10 percent and up to 35 percent for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) consumption, according to the company.

The EMC optimizes air conditioning, lighting and equipment operations, and is capable of managing different sources of energy such as utility grid, battery systems, diesel generators and renewable sources.

NEC‘s EMC software provides an overall view of users’ energy profiles, enabling analysis of consumption patterns at specific locations. The EMC offers a range of applications such as office and building monitoring, data center and retail outlet energy management as well as large scale specific deployments.

The NEC EMC gathers data through sensors and power meters, strategically placed within a facility, and it consists of controllers using algorithms to maintain equipment performance while minimizing energy consumption. NEC’s EMC is currently being implemented in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia for buildings and for companies in retail, telecom and utility sectors.
