ASHRAE has released the newly revised ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 105-2014, Standard Methods of Determining, Expressing, and Comparing Building Energy Performance and Greenhouse Gas Emissions. The new edition includes procedures for calculating site and source energy, but a number of decisions are left to adopters, including what should be calculated beyond site energy and the multipliers for those calculations.
The Global Feed Life Cycle Assessment guidelines, developed by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization-led Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance Partnership (LEAP), are now available for public review, the International Feed Industry Federation says. Comments are invited until July 31.
Evatran’s Plugless L2 System is the first wireless EV charging system to carry the ETL safety mark, according to consultants Intertek, which carried out the certification. The system was tested to UL 2594 and CSA C22.2 No. 280-13, a safety standard for EV supply equipment, allowing the product to carry the cETLus mark for the US and Canada. The Plugless L2 is currently available for the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf, and is being trialled by Google, Hertz and Duke Energy.
The $243 million renovation of St. Paul’s historic Union Depot into a transit hub has earned LEED Gold. The facility, owned by the Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority, used salvage materials and offers EV charging stations, the Star Tribune reports.
