Cortec Corporation has launched the latest version of its VpCI 126 Blue high-technology films and bags that contains a higher content of recycled resin than earlier products.
The new version of VpCI 126 Blue includes recycled internal scrap in its formula, making the whole regranulation process more energy efficient, and greatly reducing waste, Cortec says.
Sealing products in this film protects metal parts from all types of corrosion including rust, tarnish, stains, white rust and oxidation for up to five years, Cortec says. The new film replaces hazardous conventional rust preventatives such as oils and desiccants.
The VpCI’s vaporize and condense to metal surfaces in the enclosed package, reaching every area of the part, even hard-to-reach interior surfaces. This allows complete product protection during storage as well as during domestic and overseas shipments, Cortec says.
VpCI 126 Blue has received approval by the Federal Drug Administration for indirect food contact for use on food containers and food handling equipment and approval from a leading institute.
Companies using the film include General Motors, Toyota, General Electric and IBM.
