UK Health Club Obtains CHP System via Power Purchase Agreement

by | May 29, 2013

Roko Health Club logoRoko Health Club in York, United Kingdom, has signed a power purchase agreement for EuroSite Power to supply it with a combined heat and power (CHP) system.

EuroSite has previously supplied CHP systems for four other Roko Health Clubs in the country, including sites at Chiswick, Gillingham, Nottingham and Portsmouth.

The York installation will produce 558,450 kWh of electricity per year, with a total revenue value of $2.06 million over the term of the 15-year power purchase agreement.

The CHP system will supply electricity to the club, which will power the HVAC and hot water systems, among others.

The contract for York means that EuroSite Power now has agreements in place for all the clubs operated under the Roko brand.

EuroSite Power sells the energy produced from an onsite energy system to an individual property as an alternative to the outright sale of energy equipment. Customers pay only for the energy produced by the system and receive a guaranteed discount rate on the price of the energy. EuroSite Power pays for all system capital, installation, operating expenses and support. EuroSite Power will also handle all service, maintenance and repair, meaning the clubs will not need to provide manpower to support the energy equipment.
