Environmental & Energy Executive Moves: Climate Registry, AECOM, PG&E, BioteQ, Abound Solar

The Climate Registry: The operator of a voluntary carbon footprint registry has appointed David Rosenheim to the position of executive director. Rosenheim currently runs U.S. business development for Offsetters, a carbon management organization.

AECOM: The consultancy has named Matthew Sutton as chief executive of its environment business line. Sutton joined AECOM in April as deputy chief executive from Arcadis.

Watts Water Technologies: The manufacturer of water quality and efficiency products has appointed Srinivas K. Bagepalli as president of North America. Bagepalli was the president and general manager of three global companies within Danaher Corporation’s industrial technologies group, Setra Systems, Inc., Sonix, Inc. and Portescap, and served as the company’s president of sensors & controls, Asia.

AES Corporation: The energy company has redefined its operational management and organizational structure around two business lines, utilities and generation, naming Andrew Vesey COO of utilities and Ned Hall COO of generation. Victoria Harker has been named president of global business services and will continue to serve as CFO.

Abound Solar: The maker of thin-film PV modules said chief executive Tom Tiller is stepping down for family reasons and will become chairman. Craig Witsoe becomes CEO. He was previously CEO at Lineage Power, now GE Power Electronics.

Alphabet Energy: The startup, which is commercializing a new waste heat recovery technology, announced that Robert C. McFarlane has joined as an advisor. McFarlane was national security advisor to Ronald Reagan. Graham Fisher, chief scientist at silicon and polysilicon wafer company MEMC, is joining Alphabet’s technical advisory board.

Enerkem: The waste-to-biofuels and chemicals company announced that Larry MacDonald has joined its board of directors. MacDonald spent 30 years at NOVA Chemicals Corporation in senior executive functions.

Energy Information Standards Alliance: The organization working to create a common framework for sharing of building energy data has named Chris Kotting executive director. Kotting has worked with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, North American Energy Standards Board, North American Electric Reliability Corporation, National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and Smart Grid Interoperability Panel.

Midwest Energy Emissions Corp: The developer of mercury capture systems for power plants appointed Alan Kelley as president and chief operating officer. Kelley replaces Richard MacPherson, who becomes senior vice president of strategic initiatives and will continue as a member of the board. Kelley was most recently president and CEO of Grand Bahama Power Co.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company: The utility has appointed Roger Frizzell as vice president, corporate relations and chief communications officer. Frizzell has been head of corporate communications at American Airlines since 2003.

TerraLux: The maker of LED products announced that former Philips Lighting Electronics CEO Brian R. Dundon is taking up the role of board chairman.

BioteQ Environmental Technologies: The industrial wastewater treatment company has appointed Jonathan Wilkinson as CEO, taking over from Brad Marchant, who is retiring. Mr. Wilkinson has previously worked at Nexterra Systems Corporation, QuestAir Technologies and Bain & Company.

Carmanah Technologies Corporation: The maker of solar LED lights and solar power systems has appointed Bruce Cousins as chief executive officer and a board director, taking over both roles from Ted Lattimore. Cousins recently held positions in the renewable energy industry at Xantrex and Ballard Power.
