Owens Ups Recycled Content in Fiberglass Insulation, Cuts Energy Use, CO2

corning_owens.jpgOwens Corning announced that it has increased the the certified recycled content in its PINK Fiberglas insulation to a minimum of 40 percent.

The company says at this level of recycled content, the amount of waste glass diverted from landfills could form a two-lane glass highway that extends 1.3 times around the world. In addition, the company says the use of recycled content in PINK Fiberglas insulation also helps reduce the company’s energy use and CO2 emissions by nearly 13 percent.

In October, the company announced that it will cut its total U.S. GHG emissions by 25 percent per unit of production from 2006 to 2012.
