A variety of experts from former Clinton administration environmental leaders to people from transition co-chairman John Podesta’s think tank top the list of Barack Obama’s advisory committee on the environment and natural resources, Politico reports.
The team will be headed by David Hayes, former global chairman of the Environment, Land and Resources Department at Latham & Watkins.
One of the three candidates who will be reviewing the EPA includes Robert Sussman, a former Latham & Watkins environmental lobbyists and deputy administrator of Bill Clinton’s EPA. Cecilia Estolano, a senior policy adviser at the EPA under Clinton, and Lisa Jackson, who leads the New Jersey Environmental Protection Department.
Other candidates also from former Clinton administration include Elgie Holstein, who will focus his review on the Department of Energy, Elizabeth Montoya and Sue Tierney.
Rose McKinney-James, former president and CEO of the Corporation for Solar Technology and Renewable Resources, will lead the review on Federal Regulation and Oversight of Energy.
During Obama’s campaign, he made renewable energy a focus of his energy policy.
