Recent enhancements to Calistoga Beverage Company’s compressed air system for processing, bottling and packaging water, will save Calistoga 1.3 million kwh of electricity and $176,000 a year.
Pacific Gas and Electric, Calistoga’s energy provider, sponsored and funded the system that the sustainability solutions firm Ecos implemented for Calistoga in May 2007.
Calistoga said the compressed air system is one of a number of initiatives the company is planning to improve energy use and reduce its environmental impact.
“With the help and support of PG&E and Ecos, Calistoga has been able to identify and implement energy savings initiatives this year, which will result in the reduction of nearly two million kilowatt hours per year of electricity demand,” according Calistoga’s Greg Phillips.
