Manufacturers Push Green Electronics At IFC, Consumers Not Interested

Manufacturers at IFA, Europe’s biggest consumer electronics show, tried to entice consumers with environmentally-friendly product details but consumers were more interested in bigger and brighter screens, Reuters reports.

Visitors “seemed uninterested or even confused when asked what importance green concerns had in their buying choices,” according to the article.

Philips said it would be making new energy-management targets public in the next few weeks. Sharp said its new LCD televisions would offer “unprecedented” environmental performance. Fujitsu-Siemens launched its first green personal computers for consumers, the Scaleo Green PC.
