Air Canada Launches Voluntary Carbon Offset Program

by | May 29, 2007

Air Canada is introducing a program that lets consumers make voluntary carbon credit purchases to offset their air travel, CBC reports.

The Montreal-based airline is working with Zerofootprint to offer the carbon offsets.

Delta recently became the first U.S. airline to offer consumers a similar option.

Other airlines, including Cathay Pacific, Virgin Blue, and SAS have similar programs.

British Airways has taken some heat for not putting enough marketing muscle behind its voluntary program.

The city of Denver is considering kiosks at DIA where travelers can buy carbon offsets.
